Free health screenings Feb. 17

The Florida Department of Health in Taylor County, in partnership with Big Bend AHEC (Area Health Education Center), will host a “Walk in the Park for Heart Health” community event this Friday, Feb. 17, from 3-5 p.m. at Loughridge Park (located on Highway 98 West).

“Come walk around the park and get active for heart health! Bring a parent, a friend or co-worker and get moving. Physical activity plays an important role in your heart health,” organizers said.

Free blood pressure screenings, tobacco cessation information and tools, A1C screenings and body mass index (BMI) screenings will be offered for free.
