Family and friends of the late World War II veteran Norman Leroy Tedder Sr. joined local officials Friday morning for a ceremony during which the county dedicated a portion of County Road 14 in his honor. The event was held at Econfina State Park. Tedder was among the more than 160,000 Allied troops who landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified coastline on “D-Day,” June 6, 1944 to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France in what Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower called a crusade in which, “we will accept nothing less than full victory.”
