Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson was the featured speaker at the Taylor County Farm Bureau’s annual meeting held Thursday, March 9, at Forest Capital Hall. The former senate president and large-scale egg farmer from Trilby (Pasco County) was recently elected to oversee the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Simpson, spoke on a variety of topics, including his support of 4-H and FFA, the importance of protecting Florida farms from frivolous lawsuits due to the role they play in maintaining the nation’s food supply and generating billions of dollars to the economy.
