    Anita ‘Faye’ Davis

    Anita “Faye” Davis, 90, of Perry, passed away March 24, 2023, surrounded by family.

    Faye was born in Perry on Feb. 22, 1933, to the late William Gordon Brown and Johnnie Brown Brown.

    She was of the Southern Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Taylor County High School and a retired paralegal.
    She enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing on the Gulf with her family. She also enjoyed football season and cheering for the Florida Gators.

    She was very family-oriented and enjoyed hunting with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends.

    Faye will always be remembered for her loving and caring personality. She always stood by her family values, always putting others before herself.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, Billy Davis, whom she married on April 15, 1952, from which they were each other’s lifelong companions; her son, Jack Davis; two brothers, “J.D.” Brown and “J.W.” Brown; and one sister, Mildred Hart.

    Faye is survived by: her two sons, Mark Davis (Sandy) and Kyle Davis; her daughter, Lori Davis Fewell; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Davis (who was married to Faye’s son, Jack); three sisters, Glenna Taylor, Freda Burford and Billie Tedder; five grandchildren, Natalie Willoughby, Chelsea Davis, Zach Davis, Joey Davis and Billy Davis; and six great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services will be held Wednesday March 29, at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery.
