    Laymon Luther “Sonny” Sadler,

    77, passed away on April 8, 2023, in Mayo. Sonny was born Oct. 16, 1945, in Steinhatchee to Luther Leslie Sadler and Emma Helen Hunt Sadler.

    He honorably served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm and the Gulf War. Sonny was a Baptist and a member of St. Johns Freewill Baptist Church.

    He worked with Tri-County Electric Co-Op as a lineman and a meter reader until he retired in 2002. Sonny was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

    He was preceded in death by: his parents, Luther Leslie Sadler and Emma Helen Hunt Sadler; and three sisters, Rosie Green, Mary Jane Dixon and Nellie Bender.

    Sonny is survived by: his son, Jamey L. Sadler; three sisters, Emma Brown, Etsie Brock and Geneva and her husband, Marty Reiser; and two grandchildren, Bellanna and Ty; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Jeremy Gray and Phillip Mann officiating. Interment services with military honors will follow in Carlton Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m.
