Helen Houck, 94, passed away on May 7, 2023, at her home in Perry.
She was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Salem to Jody Morgan and Gertie Austin Morgan.
Mrs. Houck was Baptist and attended Antioch Revival Center.
She will be fondly remembered for being her husband’s partner on the family farm where they raised many of a cow, and did all the chores that go along with it.
Mrs. Helen was an admired and endeared lady, who was an active volunteer for many clubs and organizations throughout her life, here in Perry.
She was a proud board member of the Florida Farm Bureau, and was awarded “Woman of the Year.”
Helen was preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest Houck; her son, John Amos Houck; her parents, Jody and Gertie Morgan; her brother, Hubert Morgan; and her niece, Debbie Morgan
Mrs. Houck is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brothr Cricket Watson officiating. Interment services will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Taylor County 4-H Club in her memory.
All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
