City rejects hotel height increase request

Citing the potential cost of additional firefighting equipment and personnel, the city council has rejected a developer’s request to increase the maximum height of structures in certain commercial zones from 35 to 50 feet to allow for construction of a new four-story hotel on Highway 19.
