Elderly abuse case dropped

Citing a lack of evidence and inability to obtain sworn testimony, the State Attorney’s Office has dismissed charges of elderly abuse against the caretaker of an 89-year-old victim who died one day after she was removed from her home and taken to the hospital covered in bed sores and filth.
