Donald ‘Donnie’ Henry Pridgeon

Donald “Donnie” Donald Henry Pridgeon, 69, died on June 23, 2023, at the Dozier House in Tallahassee after an extended illness. He was born on April 14, 1954, to John Henry and Anna Jo Tolson Pridgeon. He was a member of the FSU Booster Club and loved the Seminoles. Donnie attended Vanderbilt University, served in the United States Air Force and worked for Buckeye for 32 years. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Triple Creek Hunting Club. He also loved to fish and have family gatherings. He was predeceased by: grandparents, Wardie and Arnie Bell Tolson, James Tolbert and Carrie Corrine Pridgeon; his parents, John Henry and Anna Jo Pridgeon; his two brothers, Jerry and Billy Pridgeon; a twin sister, Debbie Pridgeon; and two grandsons, Colby Young and Chris Strickland. He is survived by: his wife of 34 years, Hazel Whiddon Pridgeon; a son, Micha Stephens (Nikki); five daughters, Terri Young (Jimmy), Teresa Ellison Cruce, Angelique Ellison, Dana Griffin (Steve) and Kasey Araiza (Rueben); grandchildren, Britney Strickland, Katelynn and Breanna Griffin, Abby Frampton, Dominick Araiza and Karly and Kolton Stephens; his greatgrandchildren, Ashton and Kaylee Mae Strickland; his sister, Linda Howell (Wayne); aunt, Vergie Mixon; uncle, Billy Tolson; and his best friends, Charles Cannon and Michael Lynn; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Donnie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 2 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Perry with Brother Ivy Overstreet officiating.
