Christmas in July Celebration & Movie in the Park

Some 25-plus vendors will fill Rosehead Park this Friday, July 14, for the Taylor County Historical Society’s first “Christmas in July” Celebration & Movie in the Park.

The free event, which will begin at 5 p.m., will feature arts and crafts, vendors, games for children, concessions and special appearances by the reigning Sugar Plum Princesses and Snow Queens.

The theme for this year’s “Downtown Christmas on the Square” will also be announced with the help of dancers from Taylor Gymnastics, Cheerleading & Dance.

There will also be a splash area to help everyone beat the heat. The evening will culminate with a “Movie in the Park” screening of a Christmas favorite, The Polar Express, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce.

The historical society has also partnered with the Taylor County Public Library for a “Christmas in July Photo Scavenger Hunt” featuring a grand prize “Family Fun Pack” that includes four tickets to Wild Adventures, $150 in spending money and a $100 Busy Bee gas card. The winner will be drawn at the July 14 event. (Must be present to win.)

All entries for the Scavenger Hunt must be returned to the library by noon, Friday, July 14.
