James Steven Cruce

James Steven Cruce, 64, passed away on July 9, 2023, in Madison. He was born April 4, 1959, in Perry to Francis “F.C.” Cruce and Gladys Taylor Cruce. Stevie was Baptist and a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors – hunting and fishing – watching sports, and especially cheering on the Taylor County Bulldogs. Stevie worked with TARC doing lawn service and was a participant with Special Olympics for more than 50 years, his whole life. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Francis “F.C.” and Gladys Taylor Cruce; his brother, Joe Cruce; and three sisters, Patricia Koster, Diane Dixon and Alma Jean Cruce. Stevie is survived by: his three brothers, Wallace, Francis and Ronnie Cruce, and his sister, Debbie Cruce, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Bobby Hall officiating. Interment services will follow in Hendry Cemetery.
