Sheriff’s office to hold Teen Driver Challenge Aug. 8 at the airport

Are you up for the challenge?

The 2023 Teen Driver Challenge Course is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Perry-Foley Airport.

“Students will need to possess a valid restricted or operator’s license and show proof of insurance,” organizers said. “They will need to drive their own (or a parent’s) vehicle to the event. Students with a restricted license will need a parent to bring them and the parent must be willing to let the student drive their vehicle.”

The class is currently not full, and the deadline to apply is Thursday, Aug. 3, at 5 p.m. Applications can be picked up at the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, located in the courthouse.
