Eleanor Hunter Johnson

Eleanor Hunter Johnson, 83, passed away on Aug. 8, 2023, in Perry. She was born March 31, 1940, in Palatka to Buster Hunter and Aquilla Wigglesworth Hunter. Eleanor was a Baptist and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, she worked as the food service coordinator with the Taylor County School System for more than 34 years. Eleanor was a Past Worthy Matron for the Eastern Star. She loved working in her flower gardens and crocheting was also one of her hobbies. She was also the nursery director at her church for many years. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Buster Hunter and Aquilla Wigglesworth Hunter; her husband, Albert Johnson of 62 years; and her two sons, Jerry Lamar and Randy Neil Johnson. Eleanor is survived by: her son, Bert and his wife, Susan Johnson; her daughter, Wendy Johnson; three sisters, Alice Murphy, Dolores Hammock and Gale Sisk; and her three grandchildren, Aaron, Katie and Slade; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with the Rev. James Nowell officiating. Interment services will follow in Pineview Memorial Cemetery.
