New state law thwarts county’s residential garbage pick-up plans

The Taylor County Commission has halted efforts to determine what it would cost to offer residential garbage pick-up after learning state legislation passed last year would force county officials to go through a three-year process and spend what would likely be a large sum of money before such service could even begin.
