Taylor County projected to get direct hit from Hurricane Idalia

Local emergency officials warned Taylor County residents that Hurricane Idalia — forecast to hit as a Category 3 or higher storm – would be an “unprecedented” weather event, capable of producing a 15-foot storm surge with the “great potential for death and catastrophic devastation” when it makes landfall in or near Taylor County Wednesday morning.
