Rachel Sheffield

Rachel Sheffield, 85, passed away on Sept. 15, 2023.

She was born April 28, 1938, in Perry to Dan Pridgeon and Susie Scott Pridgeon.

Rachel enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, quilting and fishing for redbreast on the Aucilla River.

She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was a faithful servant there.

Rachel was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles D. Sheffield; her parents, Dan and Susie Pridgeon; and many step-siblings.

She is survived by: two children, Annette Driggers and her husband, Johnnie, and Terry Wayne Sheffield; one granddaughter, Lindsey Hayes and her husband, Matthew; one great-grandson, Jake Hayes; her brother, Kenneth Pridgeon; and her special friend, Hinton Slaughter; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Brother Gil Williams officiating. Interment services will follow in Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-2:30 p.m. Prior to the service.
