Stephen S. Cook

Mr. Stephen S. Cook, 71, of Perry passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, in Perry. He was born in Rome, Ga., on June 15, 1952, son of the late Syndor H. Cook and the late Alva Ruth Paris Cook. Prior to retirement, he worked as an x-ray equipment installer for the Phillips Company. Mr. Cook was a Baptist and enjoyed playing the guitar, camping and fishing. Survivors include: a brother, Donald H. Cook (Dianne), Perry; a sister, Anne Cook Oxford (Andy), Macon, Ga.; nieces and nephews, Adam Cook (Temara), Leslie Fletcher (Jason), Rachel Smyth (Mitch), Bethany Sheffield (Justin) and Sarah Knapp (Ryan); nine great nieces and nephews; special friends, Berryl Budd and Bill Wynn; one aunt; and several cousins. Graveside funeral service were held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Andy Oxford officiating. The family received friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, Rome, Ga., has charge of the arrangements.
