Whetsel to be recognized

HopeMORE’s newest season will have a live taping this Saturday, Sept. 30, celebrating Perry’s own, Morgan Whetsel, the first-ever title holder of Miss Juneteenth Florida

A royal reception will be held in Whetsel’s honor following the taping.

“Come in white attire with a splash of color, and be red carpet ready! Bring a great attitude and heart to support our guest of honor. Free admissions to all, but donations are appreciated to help Morgan’s fundraising efforts for the National Miss Juneteenth Pageant in October,” host Hope Demps said.

Current and past queens are also invited to attend.

The event will be held at 1310 South Jefferson Street.
