BBQ benefits teen battling cancer

A BBQ fundraiser benefit for a local teen battling cancer will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, starting at 9 a.m. at the Busy Bee convenience store located on Highway 19 South.

The menu will include pulled pork sandwiches, Goodman’s potato salad, baked beans, your choice of dessert (cookie or brownie) and bottled water.

The cost will be $10 per plate. A sandwich and a water will be available for $5.

Proceeds will benefit Jaydeen Williams, 18, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloma Leukemia.

She is the daughter of Jimmy Wayne and Jamie Williams.

Jaydeen is facing a six-to eight-month stay at Shands while she receives blood transfusions and chemotherapy.
