    Richard Harold Cruce

    Richard Harold Cruce, 70, passed away on Oct. 21, 2023, in Madison. He was born July 30, 1953, in Tallahassee to John David Cruce and Christine Watson Cruce. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, singing and target shooting with his grandchildren. He sung for many weddings and funerals, and had memorable times with his gospel group, Daybreak. He taught himself how to play the piano and guitar. Mr. Cruce was of the Southern Baptist and Pentecostal faith, and a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Richard worked as a safety inspector with Amerisafe before retiring after 20 years. He was preceded in death by: his parents, John David Cruce and Christine Watson Cruce; two of his brothers, L.M. Cruce and Jerry Cruce; and his greatgranddaughter, Autumn Faith Miller. Mr. Cruce is survived by: his wife of 49 years, Carol K Cruce; his children, Kyndra (Greg) Tidwell and Kristi (Dee) Jarvis; his grandchildren, Chase (Katieann), Trey and Breanna Miller, and Jordan, Ty (Bethni Stalnaker) and Bella Jarvis, and Kelsey and Zach Tidwell; his sister, Reba (Freddie) Rogers; his brother, J.W. (Derry) Cruce; and his sisters-inlaw, Bessie Cruce and Mary Cruce; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Billy Gipson and Brother Jason Justus officiating. Interment services will follow in Hendry Cemetery of Shady Grove with Pastor Bobby Hall. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5-7 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
