    James Marshall Campbell

    James Marshall Campbell, 81, passed away on Oct. 23, 2023, in Gainesville. Jimmy was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Mayo to Edward Lorace Campbell and Ottis Land Campbell. He served his country in the Army Reserve Unit for eight years. He was a Baptist and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Perry Elks Club. He also loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting was some of his favorite hobbies. Jimmy worked with the State of Florida as a corrections officer until he retired after 20 years. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Edward Lorace Campbell and Ottis Land Campbell; his sister, Willie Jo Howell; a brother, Charles E. Campbell; and his two sons, Todd and Ashley Campbell. Jimmy is survived by: his wife of 28 years, Betty Campbell; his daughter, Tamie and her husband, Bryan Rodgers; a son, John and his wife, Ibi Campbell; his stepson, Charles Campbell; and stepdaughter, Elaine Aman; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. at Joe P. Burns Chapel with Brother James Nowell officiating. Interment services will follow in Pineview Memorial Cemetery.
