Gerry was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law and mostly, friend. If you knew her, you knew love by example. You knew one of the sweetest, humblest persons who always used Jesus as her example. She had perfect handwriting, which was an example of the perfect person she tried to be. She had a contagious laugh and possessed a spirit that you knew you were a better person when in fellowship with her. She would always agree with you no matter your opinion or position, always just nodding her head in agreement not to cause any friction. She loved cats and they loved her and were attracted to her. She loved country music, gospel music and watching TV especially FSU football. She had a remarkable memory. She didn’t need a phone book, calendar or date book. She was very close with her grandparents growing up and now is at eternal rest with them. She loved Jesus most of all; the fruits of her love and her trust in Him is why we will miss her so. A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. In Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dustin Logan and Pastor Danny Lundy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. A private interment will be held at Pisgah Cemetery.
