    Posted on November 8, 2023

Paul Reid Fouche Sr. went home to the Lord this past Friday, shortly after celebrating his 87th birthday. Born on November 1, 1936, in Jacksonville, FL, he was lifelong resident of Perry, FL. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 55 years, Connie Sumrall Fouche and his parents Jay W & Mamie Fouche. Mr. Fouche is survived by his children Reid Fouche, Julie Tomlinson and husband Mike, and Robert Fouche and wife Sue. His Grandchildren, Michael Tomlinson, Cory Tomlinson, Melissa Edwards, Josh Fouche, and Clara Herrin. Along with 10 Great-Grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sandy Oden, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Paul Fouche has a pretty impressive resume in Taylor County. He retired from Buckeye as Cost & Quality Control Manager of the woodyard in 1998 after working there for 43 years. Mr. Fouche was the Commander of the Civil Air Patrol flying sundown patrol in Taylor County. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for 48 years and held many titles including past Exalted Ruler, past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, and Secretary of the Lodge. Mr. Fouche was the owner of Aluminum Marine Products for 8 years and a member of the Republican party. A devout Christian, he was a member of First Baptist Church serving as a deacon for the past several years.
Paul Fouche was a man of few words, but when he spoke, he revealed his heart. The only subjects he was interested in talking about was what he had his full faith in, the main one being our Lord and Savior. Mr. Fouche loved Jesus and he wanted everyone to know Him and have a relationship with Him. His family was the most important thing to him next to God and his wife. After finding God, his family recalls a Christmas when he gifted everyone a Bible and told them that would be the most important gift they would ever receive. And just like he always thought, he was right!
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday November 8, 2023, at 11:00am at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steven Ruff Officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
