Pouncey’s demolished!

A familiar Taylor County landmark on Hwy. 19 in Perry for decades, the former Pouncey’s Restaurant was demolished on Tuesday to make way for construction of a new hotel. Developers seeking to construct a Fairfield Inn by Marriott recently received approval from the City of Perry to raise the maximum height of structures in the Commercial Intensive zoning district from 35 to 50 feet to allow for construction of the four-story hotel.
