    Earlene Clark “Love as powerful as your mother’s, leaves its own mark. To have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever.” Mrs. Earlene Clark, 90, of Perry was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Donaldsonville, Ga., to George and Annie Mae Ross. She died Nov. 19, 2023. She married the love of her life Joe Clark in 1973 and with this union raised eight children, Lewis Ford Jr., Lillie Smith, Preston Ford, Larry Ford, Joseph Ford, Jerome Ford, Timmy Ford and Carolyn Henderson. Earlene was a devoted member of her community and church. She was loving, nurturing, kindhearted, selfless and God-fearing. She loved hard and always made sure that everyone around her felt loved. She made her mark on this world and her legacy will live on through every memory made with everyone she came in contact with. Earlene is preceded in death by: her parents, George and Annie Mae Ross; and siblings, John A. Ross, Rosa Lee McGhee, Gertrude Bryant and Beatrice Ward. Earlene is survived by: her devoted husband and best friend, Joe Clark; daughters Lillie Smith and Carolyn Henderson; sons, Lewis Ford Jr. (Dana Ford), Larry Ford, Joseph Ford, Jerome Ford, Preston Ford and Timmy Ford; and all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, greatgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Pastor Connie Mote officiating.
