    M. C. “Lope “Reddin

    M. C. “Lope “Reddin of Perry passed away Nov. 30, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and Grandman. He was a longtime and dedicated employee of Buckeye Cellulose and Procter & Gamble in Perry. Lope was born in Ocklawaha, Fla., to the late Ethel Forrest Reddin and Calvin Reddin on Aug. 22, 1935. His wife, Carrie Haynes Reddin; son, Nathaniel Hugger Sr.; and his siblings, Dorothy Reddin, William Reddin, Willie “Bill” Reddin, Eulis “Chet” Reddin, Calvin Reddin, Beulah Graham, Martha Hampshire and Wesley Reddin all preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Ethel “Lyn” Brinson (Antonio); a sister, Mary (Earl) McCullers; a brother, Marion (Mary) Reddin; grandchildren, Lametris McBride, Nathaniel Hugger Jr., Janae Hugger, Zion Brinson, Jonas Brinson and Christian Brinson; two Goddaughters, Carime Wallace and Danecia Williams; and a devoted niece that he helped raise, Alberta Bradley. Viewing will be held Friday, Dec. 8, at Pineland Missionary Baptist Church in Madison 5:30-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Perry. Cooks and Cooper Funeral Home of Madison is in charge of arrangements.
