    Walter “Jay” Logan

    Walter “Jay” Logan, 58, passed away on Dec. 9, 2023, in Greenville. He was born Aug. 8, 1965, in Monticello to Wilma D. Fallings. Even though he was born in Monticello, he was raised in Perry and has lived his whole life here. Jay was a very talented welder in construction. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. You could find him fishing in his spare time at Hickory Mound. During his last few years, he turned his life around and began to cherish his family and health. Jay grew his relationship with God. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma D. Fallings. Jay is survived by: his children, Michael and his wife, Chelsey Logan, and Brittany and her husband, Justin Freed; his grandchildren, Jessa, Jayden, Jordyn, Jameson and Lil Jesse Freed; his siblings, Bob Logan, Politha Nettles, Tonya Hicks, and Jamey Logan; and his aunt and uncle, Aunt Betty and Uncle Rodney Lytle. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
