John Allen Sadler, 76, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, in Perry. He was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Topeka, Kan., to Edward Sadler and Dolores Baker. John honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He was a retired Army veteran and was based in Fort Benning, Ga., Fort Carson, Colo., and Fort Wachica, Ariz. He was also a retired carpeting business contractor who worked in Sacramento, Calif., and Albuquerque, N.M., and enjoyed being selfemployed and managing his business. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In his pastime, he would compete in the Bowling League in Rio Rancho, N.M. He was a professional bowler in his own league and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. John would share his love for bowling with his children and teach them his skills. He loved visiting the Jemez mountains with his family. John was very loving and dedicated to his family, and he is loved and missed by his family and friends. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Sadler; and his parents, Edward Sadler and Dolores Baker. Mr. Sadler is survived by: his wife of 37 years, Leony Sadler; his son, Tony Sadler; his brothers, Edward, Michael, Steven and David Sadler; and two sisters from Tennessee, Elizabeth and Virginia; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Father Matthew Busch officiating. Interment services will follow in Carlton Cemetery.
