James Tully Wells III

James Tully Wells III, 70, passed away on Dec. 19, 2023, in Tallahassee. Tully was born Oct. 28, 1953, in Madison to James Tully Wells Jr. and Iris Sheffield Wells. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith. All of us that knew him know he was a simple man. What was important to him was his family first, and then his friends. He loved us all whole-heartedly and wanted nothing but the best for us all. To honor his wishes, we are going to keep things simple, and ask you to remember him as he meant to you in your own special way. We will celebrate our dad this next Thursday, Dec. 28, beginning at 6 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home for an informal gathering for a time to visit and reminisce, and celebrate a life welllived. Tully was preceded in death by: his wife, JoAnn Hiller Wells; his parents, James Tully and Iris Wells Jr.; and his brother, Terry Wells. He is survived by: his two boys, J.T. (Kim) Wells and their two children, Jaxon and Teagon, and Josh (Tori) Wells and their children, Dakota and Tristan; his sister, Kittye Wells; and his two grand-dogs, Riley and Ember.
