Billie Lee Calhoun

Billie Lee Calhoun, 77, passed away on Dec. 20, 2023, at his residence in Perry. Bill was born May 28, 1946, in Perry to Clarence Calhoun and Margaret Nauna Cooper Calhoun. He honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam era. He was a Baptist and a member of Cross Point Baptist Church. Bill started his career at Buckeye Procter & Gamble, and finished his career with Buckeye, Florida, as a project manager for more than 35 years. He was an avid member of the Perry Golf and Country Club. He also worked on several projects around the house for family and friends over the years. Bill also loved spending time with his family and his grandsons. Bill was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarence Calhoun and Margaret Nauna Cooper Calhoun; and his two younger brothers, Bobby and Jerry Calhoun. He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Elota Calhoun; his two sons, John and his wife, Felisa Calhoun, and Steve Calhoun; his two grandsons, Jason Franklin and Justin Calhoun; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Eddie Pridgeon officiating. Interment services followed in Carlton Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
