John Oscar Roberts Jr., 71, passed away on Dec. 31, 2023, in Tallahassee. He was born Nov. 10, 1952, in Valdosta, Ga., to J. O. Roberts and Delores Blue Roberts. John was a Baptist and a member of First Baptist Church. He retired from Buckeye after more than 40 years of service. John was a member of the Perry Elks Lodge, and he also loved the water, scuba diving, spear fishing, traveling, yard work and his children. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.O. Roberts and Delores Blue Roberts. John is survived by: his children, Amanda and her husband, Chris Sheridan, Brett and his wife, Michelle Roberts, Krista and her husband, Kyle Patrick, and Jonathan and his wife, Dayna Roberts; his siblings, Catherine Tucker, Carrin and her husband, Bill Way, Elisa and her husband, George Merritt, and Tracy and his wife, Aimee Roberts; cousin, Lynda and her husband, David McCallum; and 10 grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with the Rev. Tracy Roberts officiating. Interment services will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.
