Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Master Gardener training classes, which will begin Thursday, Jan. 11 and continue through Thursday, April 11.
Participants will learn about soils, vegetables, fruits, botany, natives, tree/landscape/turf care, insects, diseases, pesticides, proper pruning and more.
The Master Gardener program is a service organization with the support of the University of Florida and local extension office.
Classes will be held on Thursdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Taylor County Extension Office located at Forest Capital Hall.
The deadline to submit applications is Monday, Jan. 8.
Applications are available at the extension office.
The cost will be $130 per person, and covers educational tools, field trips, etc.

The Master Gardener Volunteer Program is nationally recognized, and membership is transferable to other states and Florida counties, Strange said.
