AARP volunteers gearing up for coming tax season

AARP Tax Aide volunteers are working on their training as required by the IRS and AARP, gearing up for the coming tax season.

Volunteers will once again offer tax filing services, including e-file and assisting with direct deposit refunds, free of charge.

Services will be available on Saturdays during the month of February at First United Methodist Church and at Forest Capital Hall.

The schedule for both locations will be released soon.

“We recommend that you begin looking for those federal tax statements that are mailed in January, as well as W-2s, 1099R forms and Social Security statements, along with statements from stocks and interest statements,” volunteers said.
