Eugene ‘Pete’ F. Simmons Sr.

Eugene “Pete” F Simmons Sr., 74, passed away on Jan. 18, 2024, in Perry.

Pete was born Dec. 17, 1949, in Tampa to Daniel Jackson Blue and Minnie Simmons.

He loved to fish and spend time with his family and his puppies.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Jackson Blue and Minnie Simmons, and one great-grandson, Grayson “Tater” Lee Simmons.

He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Betty Simmons; two children, Eugene Jr. and Rosie Moore and her husband, James; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Harold, Wayne and Harry Traynor, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for a later date.

All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
