Sheila Ann Forrest

Sheila Ann Forrest, 76, passed away on January 23, 2024 in Tallahassee, FL. Sheila was born August 4, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia to William A McMinn and Phoebe Green McMinn.

Sheila lead as the choir director for two years at the Taylor County Correctional Facility where she made many memories. She also ran the McMinn’s Beauty Shop with her mother in Columbus, Georgia for 40 years. When you came to get your hair done, you began a lifelong friendship. She participated in charity work to give nursing home patients a hair makeover, as well as fix hair for her clients who passed away.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. She also sang in the choir at Charity Baptist Church. Sheila is best remembered for always lending an ear to listen to her friends. Her favorite saying was “One day I’m going to get it all together.” Her best memories are of the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, William A. McMinn and Phoebe Green McMinn; and her brother, William.

Mrs. Forrest is survived by her husband of 49 years, Allan Kenneth Forrest Jr; her son, Timothy (Allison) Forrest; her grandchildren, Brittany, Tim Jr. “Bubba” (Chasidy), and Brooke; her great granddaughter, Camryn; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home with Chaplain Forrest officiating. Interment services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024at 1:00 PM at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Joe P Burns Funeral Homes of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
