Shannon “Round Man” D. Murphy

Shannon “Round Man” D. Murphy, 54, passed away on January 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by family in Perry, FL. Shannon was born April 10, 1969 in Perry, Florida to Larry Dean Murphy and Judy Morgan Murphy.

Shannon was a hardworking man who loved to hunt, fish, look for arrowheads, and spend time with his family. Most of his life he could be found in the woods with his son, nieces, nephews or grandchildren. He loved to run hounds as long as it wasn’t a lemon and white. As far as he was concerned there was no better sound than a good deer race.

Shannon was preceded in death by his father Larry Dean Murphy and his brother Linc Murphy and his paternal and maternal grandparents Ruth and Ponce Morgan and Maude and Lincoln Murphy.

He is survived by his children Keith and his wife Ciara Murphy, Kaila Pitts, Spencer Murphy, and Skyler Murphy, 10 grandchildren, his mother Judy Murphy as well as a host of nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 5:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. Ray Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to assist with the cost of the service.
