Loycelle Fletcher Dickert, 83, gained her heavenly wings and joined her husband, the love of her life, on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024. Loycelle was born on July 20, 1940, in Shamrock, Fla. to Fredrick and Beatrice Cannon Fletcher. She graduated from Dixie County High School and Jones Business College in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a loving wife, mother, and dear friend to many. Loycelle was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Dickert; her parents, Fred and Beatrice Fletcher; her sister and brother-in-law, Venora Fletcher Griffin and James H. Griffin; and her sisterin-law, Sherry Norton Fletcher. She is survived by her sons, Michael J. Dickert, and Daniel T. Dickert (Lana) of Steinhatchee; her grandsons, Blake T. Dickert (Sophia) of Cross City, Blake Fowler of Cross City, and Gary Allen Fowler, III of Cross City; her sister, Theresa Fletcher Lee of Old Town; her brothers, Freddie Fletcher of Old Town and Dr. Tom Fletcher (Marcy) of Perry; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her loyal caregiver and friend, Jean T. Hurst of Cross City. Funeral services for Loycelle will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at the Rock Sink Baptist Church in Old Town, with Pastor Al Paulson officiating. Burial will be at Rock Sink Cemetery in Old Town. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel. Flowers will be accepted, but memorial contributions may be made to the Fred Fund at Rock Sink Baptist Church.
