Mildred Giddens

Mildred Giddens, 97, passed away on Feb. 1, 2024, in Perry. Mildred was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Foley, Florida to Loyd Padgett and May Dell Jerells Padgett. Mildred was most proud of her family, her garden, her church and was best known for her amazing pies and her cooking. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband O.H. “Grasshopper” Giddens, her son Michael Giddens, her parents Loyd and May Dell Padgett and her sister Reva Anderson. She is survived by three children: Joe Giddens and his wife, Laura; Gail Jackson and her husband, Larry; and Jimmy Giddens and his wife, Traci; seven grandchildren: Brant Giddens, Keith Giddens, Jodi Giddens, Misty Murray, Gene Jackson, Meagan Giddens, Jessica Browning; 17 great grandchildren, six greatgreat grandchildren, one sister, Wanda Stevenson, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. at 11 a.m. at Spring Warrior Church of Christ with Pastor Jeff Himmell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at Spring Warrior Church of Christ. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
