Robert “Bob” Phillip Walker, Sr. was born Sept. 14, 1951 and passed away on Feb. 2, 2024. Bob resided in Jacksonville, Fla. with his wife of 48 years, Loris Shuff Walker. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, aka “Papa Bear.” He served in the United States Air Force at Keesler Airforce Base in Biloxi, Miss. Bob was a retired contractor and was lovingly referred to by some as “Bob the Builder.” His hobbies included reading his Bible, fishing, boating, spending time with his family and going to flea markets. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Hillard Walker, Sr. and brother, Phillip Hillard Walker, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Loris Shuff Walker, of Jacksonville; his daughter, Misti Richmond (Tony) of Oakdale, La.; and his son, Robert Walker, Jr. (Jennifer) of Callahan; mother, Hilda Walker, and sister, Patricia Scott of Perry; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Walker, 72, were held at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry on Feb. 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. with Brother Gary French officiating. Interment followed afterwards at Pisgah Cemetery in Perry. The family received visitors at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home on Monday, Feb.5, 2024, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to Snyder Family Cleft and Craniofacial Center.
