The Taylor County Extension Office will host a free training seminar in preparation for the start of the 2024 Spring Horseshoe Crab Monitoring program.
Interested volunteers can attend the free training session on Friday, March 8, from 4-6 p.m. at the County Extension Office located at 203 Forest Park Dr. (Forest Capital Hall) in Perry.
Under the Horseshoe Crab Monitoring Program, trained volunteers collect data on horseshoe crabs, which is shared with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and NOAA to better understand the population status of this magnificent creature, according to Taylor County Marine Extension Agent Victor Blanco.
