Citing overharvesting concerns, some are calling for a later start to scallop season

Expressing concern about potentially overharvesting smaller scallops early in the season, some Steinhatchee area residents and businesses are lobbying the state to return to the previous July 1 opening date for bay scallop harvest off the Taylor County coast.
