Charles Edward Ragland

Charles Edward Ragland, 88, passed away on March 9, 2024, in Perry.

He was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Magnolia, Ky., to Claude Ragland and Laura Gibson Ragland.

Charles was a Baptist and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator with the Taylor County Road Department for many years.

Charles was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Sandhill Hunting Club for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Ragland and Laura Gibson Ragland, and his sister, Barbara Shields.

Charles is survived by: his two daughters, Robin and her husband, Mark Blandford, and Cherie and her husband, John Bohannon; and his longtime companion, Nell Shaw; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Pineview Memorial Cemetery. with Brother Cricket Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-10:50 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
