James Alton Green

James Alton Green was born Sept. 20, 1934 in Perry to James and Rutha Bell Greene.

He was a graduate of Jerkins High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1954 to 1974.

James married the late Joann Jackson and one daughter was born, Jerri A. Green, and he became the stepfather to Paul Hayes and Perry Hayes.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Jerri Green; two sons, Paul Hayes and Perry Hayes; two brothers, Tommy Greene and Jerry Greene; two sisters, Jeanette Flowers and Mary Wright; grandsons, Mack Burrell, Matthew Burrell, Michael Hayes and Malcolm Hayes; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be held Friday, March 15, from 5-6 p.m. At Trinity House of Praise.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at Trinity House of Praise, followed by interment at Springhill Cemetery.

Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
