    Alma Ann Vinson

    Alma Ann Vinson, 90, passed away on March 19, 2024, in Monticello.

    She was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Wooster, Ohio, to Harold Winfield Swesey Sr. and Edna Ardella Shultz Swesey.

    Alma Vinson was Baptist and a member of Perry First Church of God.

    She enjoyed being surrounded by family, friends and grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, attending church functions and baking skills.

    Many enjoyed tasting her carrot cake and blueberry dump cake recipes. There was never any leftovers from her baking.

    Alma had a green thumb and could grow anything.

    She was preceded in death byL her husband of five years, Alvin Lee Vinson Sr.; her parents, Harold Winfield Swesey Sr. and Edna Ardella Swesey; her brother, Harold W. Swesey Jr.; her sisters, Karen Rogers, Betty Close and Ruth Bragg; a grandson, Simm Daniel Parker; a great-grandson, Little David; and her niece, Cathy French.

    Mrs. Vinson is survived by: her children, Vicki Parker, Alvin Vinson Jr. and Sonja Borklund; grandchildren, Hiram and Raymond (Kattee) Parker, Michael and Casey Borklund, Heather, Brian and Jordan Vinson, and Deanna (John) Vann and Leanna (Micah) Palmer; as well as a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Brother Billy Gipson officiating.
