    Nell P. Lee

    Nell P. Lee, 87, passed away on March 17, 2024, in Monticello.

    She was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Sandersville, Ga., to Asa Page and Mamie Duggan Page.

    Nell was chosen as “Most Courteous” by her graduating class, became the Senior Class Secretary, participated as a cheerleader and was a member of the homecoming court in high school.

    She moved to Florida when she married the love of her life, Jim Lee, in 1954.

    She was of the Christian faith and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

    Nell worked as a school teacher with Taylor County High School (TCHS).

    She is best remembered for working and helping remedial students on the computer in the Computer Lab section. She was loved by students for her mentorship throughout the years and would help in any way she could.

    Nell loved gardening, creating flower arrangements with her green thumb and singing. Singing was a talent she had and shared the love of music with her family. She made her home to be family-oriented and loved every moment.

    She supported her husband and children in every sport activity and music lesson. Nell was always ministering to everyone she met.

    She was a longtime Sunday School teacher at church and was a devoted Christian who had a vast knowledge of scripture. She never met a stranger.

    Nell was preceded in death by: her husband, Jim Lee; her parents, Asa and Mamie Page; her daughter, Tami Lee Conklin; and her brother, Terrell Page.

    Mrs. Lee is survived by: her children, Darnell Lee McLeod, Jimmine “Jazz” Cooper (Richard), Brad Lee (Cheryl) and Page Lee (Erica); her grandchildren, Christa, Jessica, Taylor, JJ, Saige, Haley, Chelsea, Kiley, Tara and Jenna; and her great-grandchildren, Jaden, Colton, Jordan, Ryder, Elliana, CJ, Christopher, Loreleia and Adalind.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at the Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

    All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
