Hilda Inell Falany Walker was born June 27, 1931, and went to be with the Lord April 2, 2024.
For the last 15 years, Hilda resided in Perry. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday School and was a member of the choir.
She was a dorm director for 15 years at Reinhardt College where her brother Floyd Falany was the president. She spoiled all the students in her dorm, and they all loved her and called her “Aunt Hilda.” She was even made an honorary grandmother at one of her student’s weddings.
She loved life, her family and the Lord. She always made it a point to call her family and sing “Happy birthday.”
She always blew kisses when she ended a phone call, and you better blow them back no matter how old, or she would call you back!
She will be missed, but we know she is in heaven.
Hilda was preceded in death by: her parents, Minnie and Fred Falany; two sons, Robert and Phillip Walker; four sisters, Annie Attaway, Pedie Levins, Edna Smith and Florida Simpson; and one brother, Buck Falany.
She is survived by: one daughter, Patricia Walker Scott of Perry; one daughter-in-law, Loris Walker of Jacksonville; and one brother, Floyd Falany (Faye) of Waleksa, Ga.; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, at 1 p.m. At Burns Funeral Home in Perry, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. With graveside services to follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
