MaeDeb Rushing

MaeDeb Rushing, 82, passed away on April 13, 2024, in Tallahassee.

MaeDeb was born March 3, 1942 in Columbia, S.C., to Solon Bailey Underwood and Roma Hazel Barrett Underwood.

MaeDeb was of the Christian faith and was a member of New Home Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary.

She also worked with BellSouth for 33 years.

MaeDeb loved spoiling her furbabies.

She was a dedicated church member all her life.

MaeDeb was preceded in death by: her husband of 57 years, Ted H. Rushing Jr.; her parents, Solon Bailey Underwood and Roma Hazel Barrett Underwood; and her two brothers, Beau and Jack Underwood.

Mrs. Rushing is survived by: her children, Debra Rushing, James (Beth) Rushing and Jennie (Michael) Reeves; her seven grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Melanie (Richard) Bennett, Suzy Bigbee and Margaret Underwood; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bill Jenkins and Dustin Logan officiating. Interment services will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 17, from 7-9 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
