Barbara Bernice Ratliff, 86, passed away on May 4, 2024, in Perry. She was born July 20, 1937, in Perry to E. B. McIntyre and Lola Pittman McIntyre. She was married at New Home Baptist Church on Dec. 11, 1954, by the Rev. Horton and just celebrated her 69th year of marriage. She and her husband, Wayne, attended Athena Baptist Church for many years. Barbara, also known as “Granny,” enjoyed going to yard sales and buying, selling and trading jewelry. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, whose family extended to five generations. She was very charitable and loved to give gifts and help people while remaining anonymous. She was a fierce advocate for her friends and loved ones. Barbara was preceded in death by: her parents, E. B. and Lola Pittman McIntyre; her stepfather, Graham Bird; her daughter, Lola Angela Ratliff; and her brother, Bob McIntyre. She is survived by: her husband, Wayne Ratliff; and four children, Joey Ratliff and his wife, Juanita, Greg Ratliff and his wife, Renee, Cari Dixon and Todd Ratliff and his wife, Nicole; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, greatgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with the Rev. David McMullen officiating. Interment services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
