Mary Lucy Horton, 64, passed away on May 14, 2024, in Tallahassee, FL. Mary was born May 23, 1959, in Perry, Florida, to William Cruse and Mable Deal Cruse.

Mary enjoyed riding in the woods at Camp Misery with her husband, Joe, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joe Horton, her parents Bill and Eudora Cruse, sisters Beth Register and Glenda Faircloth, brothers Billy Cruse, Jerry Cruse, and Sebie Cruse.

She is survived by her son Derick Sebron Cruse and his girlfriend Machelle Russell, daughter Carrie Perkins and her husband John, son Pat Horton, daughter Stephanie Horton Cruse and her husband Brian, 17 grandchildren Jeremiah Sebron Cruse and Shay, Lindsey Vaughn, Laura Freeman, Ashley Tucker Swindall, Melanie Perkins, Matthew Padgett, Bentley Horton, Chris Davis and his wife Alexis, Brittni Davis, Codie Davis and his wife Christy, Shannon Cruse, Bridget Cruse, Christian Cruse Lane and her husband Shaun, Kasey Sharp and her husband James, Brian Cruse Jr. and his wife Shawna, Bubba Davis, Madilyn Cruse, as a well as a host of great-grandchildren including the newest addition Kaylynn Mae Cruse, siblings James Cruse, Sheryl Cruse, Ethel Sheffield and her husband Royce, and Susan McGroarty as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry, with Dennis Register officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, just prior to the service. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
