    Steven Ryan Gunter

    Steven Ryan Gunter, 47, of Moncks Corner, S.C., an accomplished carpenter, died Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his residence. Services were held at New Home Baptist Church on Saturday, May 11, with Pastor Dustin Logan and Pastor Bill Jenkins officiating. Bryan D. Gunter delivered a eulogy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Attn: Gift Processing, 4600 Park Rd., Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209. Mr. Gunter, a son of John W. “Bill” Gunter and Maggie Ferrer Gunter, was born Dec. 8, 1976, in Perry. He was a graduate of Taylor County High School and spent the majority of his career working for Mike Powell as a lead man at Lockwood Construction. He enjoyed watching movies, especially Star Wars, listening to music and hunting and fishing. He also liked to rebuild cars and had just installed his first septic tank. He could do most anything he set his mind to and was learning how to operate heavy equipment. Mr. Gunter was a NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. race. He enjoyed cooking, nature trails and spending time outdoors. He also loved his dog, Luna. He is survived by his parents Bill and Maggie Gunter, of Perry, a brother, Bryan D. Gunter and his wife, Rachel, of Charlotte; a special friend, Chan Powell, who was like a brother; a niece, Madeline Gunter; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
